                                                            A Celebration of Jazz and Blues
Artists in Partnership, Inc. is delighted to partner with the Long Beach Public Library in presenting a weekend of outstanding Jazz and Blues performances from September 29th to October 1st.  
 
On Friday from 7:30-9:00, the Miho Nobuzane Quartet starts things off with a blend of original and standard Jazz, Bossa Nova and Samba rhythms and lyrics sung in English and Portuguese.

Join Gail Storm, winner of the Long Island Blues Society IBC Challenge, Saturday at 2:00, as she presents a live performance and a multi-media look back on the Women in Blues History.
At 7:00, please join us in welcoming Blues, Soul and Gospel power vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and song-writer, Chanese Elifé.

Following Chanese, AIP is pleased to welcome back the New Moon Acoustic Blues Trio featuring Karl Schwarz, Jack O’Hara and Gregory Morgan at 8:00 for a set of traditional Blues music.

 
Join us for an enjoyable afternoon of the music of Richard Rodgers, presented by composer/pianist Paul Joseph and his jazz trio starting at 2:00 on Sunday afternoon.

All programs are Free and take place in the Auditorium of the Long Beach Public Library at 111 West Park Ave. Information and registration for programs at https://longbeachlibrary.org/.

 
The Blues continues on Sunday, following the Library events, at Roc & Olive (180 West Park Ave.) where Benoir, from Studio Noir, will be hosting AIP’s annual Blues Jam starting at 5:00 until… ? Musicians welcome!!  For additional information contact us aip4arts@gmail.com.

2-3:30- GAIL STORM:   WOMEN IN THE BLUES: a multi-media presentation celebrating the Blues Divas from the 1930’s to present-understanding the women and their music via commentary, audio recordings, video, and live performance
NEWS FLASH!!!!!!  THE WINNER OF THE LONG ISLAND BLUES SOCIETY IBC CHALLENGE!  GOING TO MEMPHIS TO COMPETE IN THE 2024 INTERNATIONAL BLUES CHALLENGE!!

7-8:00: CHANESE ELIFE Power vocalist and Harlem native, Chanese Elifé is a singer-songwriter, producer and sound healer who plays more than 40 musical instruments. She specializes in her own unique brand of multi-genre, healing frequency music as well as Blues, Soul and Gospel.

 

8-9:30: NEW MOON ACOUSTIC TRIO is a high energy traditional blues outfit led by guitarist and singer KARL SCHWARZ who has dug deep into African-American roots music, becoming fluent in styles growing out of the Mississippi Delta and the Southeastern Piedmont region, alongside traditional gospel, reels and spirituals. Performing percussion, GREGORY MORGAN who plays a Brazilian Tambourine and foot percussion, adds a beautiful dynamic polyrhythm to accompany these traditional blues. Accompanying on electric guitar, Mr. JACK O'HARA whose many musical credits include the late BB King and Lightning Hopkins.
